Working Capital

The objective of managing working capital is to ensure there is always enough cash on hand to pay bills as they become due, to purchase enough inventory and stock to meet demand and to have enough sales to support expenses.

Working capital is a business current assets that are used for the day-to-day operation of the business. These current assets include cash, receivables, inventory (and also marketable securities and prepayments).

Working capital is the life blood of any business. It is typically used to handle ongoing expenses such as personnel, inventory, equipment and supplies.
